  1. Chose this name for my son 20 odd years ago, I loved it and pronounce it with a capital E at the beginning. I figured if my son didn’t like it he could always shorten it to Ben but he loves the fact he’s never met another Eben (UK).

  2. We pronounced it Eh-ben. But it is sooooo often mispronounced. In fact the midwife tried to talk me out of it. We like the shortened version of Eb . We have only met a couple of children with the same or very similar name, so it is still very unusual . I love it, but due to the constant mispronouncing I might not choose it again.

  3. I am called Eben, that’s the short form of Ebenezer and I feel so proud whenever I am called and I keep thanking my parents for such a pleasant name that they have given me.

  4. We chose the name Eben after hearing it on a television commentary (it’s Desi from HBO’s Girls name in real life, but he spells it Ebon). We both loved immediately loved it for it’s uniqueness. We dislike that it can often be considered short for “Ebenezer” (which reminds everyone of Ebenezer Scrooge) and that it often gets mispronounced.
