  1. I had Braxton hicks with both my pregnancies (two different fathers). When my daughters father asked me why I was breathing weirdly he got concerned (first time dad that was convinced he was sterile lol) and instantly perked up when I said they were just Braxton hicks and stated he loved the name. It wasn’t until she was born and her first scream that solidified her name being Braxton as her scream rivalled the talented Toni Braxton.

  2. I had picked girls name, never boys, although I said repeatedly that I was having a boy. I suppose the name was to come to me, rather than thinking about it too hard. I never had Braxton hicks. My husband and I just felt that this was a name we both loved. We wanted a unique name, a name that when calling your child repeatedly, we would still like. Although we decided on the spelling of Braxten, it never fails that any correspondence always refers to Braxton. He was never shy to let people know, politely, the proper spelling of HIS name. He’s an adult, and it’s a name that suits him well.

  3. I like the name Braxton because it’s not Common

  4. I went through so many names. I saw Braxton and really liked it. It was different, powerful. It just stuck! Braxtyn Carter

  5. I had found the name in a baby book not long after finding out the gender of our first born. I had already had the middle name Shane picked out and I loved how they sounded together. Soon after choosing the name Braxton Shane I started learning about Braxton Hicks contractions and every time I heard it, I loved the name even more and was sure I had chosen a strong name for my amazing first born ?

  6. I went 3 weeks over due….he just refused to come out…..but that wasn’t without Braxton hicks day in and day out from 7 months on!!!!! We couldn’t agree on a name. After he was 4 days old we came up with Braxton. He seemed to respond to it. After all he heard us talk about braxton hicks for months 🙂

  7. In 2015 I had my twin boys. I wanted a set of twin names that were not used all the time. I had heard the name Braxton a few years earlier and really liked it. I have a nephew named Benjamin and one named Braden so I couldn’t use those two names with it . I then found the name Brody and loved the names together.. Braxton meaning Brocks town and being English in origin and Brody being Gaelic or Scottish and meaning a castle in Scotland or second son.

  8. My mom told me about the name when I was younger and said if she would have found it when my brother was born she would have named him that. After looking through names that was the one I liked the most! The only thing I didn’t like was when I was pregnant and I would tell people his name some people would be like ” oh like Braxton Hicks? ” but for the most part everyone really likes it and says it a strong name!
