Want to turn your toddler into an amazing acrobat? Make your relatives gasp? Have other babies squeal with delight?
Well then watch this video! See Mike and Griffin demonstrate an amazing baby trick, known in our family as “the Loren trick” after Griffin’s grandpa who introduced it to us all.
Now, I’m gonna be honest. At first, I was VERY uncomfortable with this. BUT Grandpa Loren has 7+ grandkids and is very responsible. Plus, it is actually quite safe since daddy has such a solid hold on Griff.
Of course, you try this trick at your own risk! And make sure you baby’s plenty sturdy, age 12 months or older (Griffin’s 15 months old in this video).
Be safe and have fun!

LOL! Okay, so how do I keep the kid from bonking his noggin’ on da floor?? LOLOLOL!!! Yes, I have been dropped on my head as a child. No… seriously.
I know! It freaked me out at first but now I’m OK with since Griff is a nice sturdy size. He loves it too. AND, they don’t do it too often
. Sorry to here you were dropped
. Hopefully, you recovered quickly.
LOLOLOLOLOL!!! I did. Got right back up, rubbed my noggin, and wanted to play the same game that “injured” me yet again. Kids are so weird that way.
Griffin is such a cutie!! Love the party trick!
Aw, thanks… I think so too but I’m a bit biased. I do have to say that he’s fun
. He’s always up for a giggle and loves saying “hi” to anyone that will listen. LOL!
This seems like a totally inappropriate “trick” to be promoting. Ready for lawsuits? I’m really stunned you’d post this and want your name attached to it!!
most daddies WILL play with their kids, their muscles are much stronger in their wrists and fingers and as such would have no problem with this “trick” If you’re worried about this one, perhaps I should post some videos of other games my hubby, dad and brothers play with my boys. Babies are build tough, they aren’t as delicate as some people want to believe…Designed that way for the simple purpose that toddlers are LEARNING and expected to take a little tumble now and then.
Love it! Fully agree that babies are tough and resilient. And the more you play with them, the better their balance, and co-ordination.
This looks like fun! Can someone do this to me
LOL!
My hubby does this w/ my scrawny 3 y/o. They love it!
Griff’s pretty scrawny too. He’s just not that into food. Ah, well, as long as he’s happy and thriving, it’s none of my business
.
none of your business? who’s would it be then?!
Hey, that looks like fun and pretty tame compared to what I did with my kids from very young ages (a few months). Of course I made sure their limbs were strong enough to take it, and I always kept a firm grip on them, swung them in a controlled manner, not wildly. But we do spins and swings, and tumbles, even jumping of my shoulder (while I held their hands). Of course to the sheer horror of anyone watching me (the times when I did it in the park – tee hee hee). My kids loved it and were never dropped or bumped.
That trick looks fun..and it’s up to each parent to decide on their own what’s safe for their baby…but as an ER physician…these “tricks” are the reason children are brought in for dislocated elbows. Of course it doesn’t happen every time..but I wouldnt want to take even the slightest risk with my child.
